"The Day The Earth Stood Still" 2008 version

Okay so, I saw "The Day The Earth Stood Still" last night, but I have yet to actually develop any actual feelings towards the movie. It didn't seem to sink in. I know the plot line, and I saw how it was made, etc, but I can't seem to develop any kind of opinion or feelings towards it. I did have fun - my two good friends, Sean and Tynan took me out, and we had a lot of fun. Although I was sooo cold in that theatre! About 1/2 hour into the movie Sean offered me his jacket but I'm too stubborn. Although, when there was 1/2 hour left in the movie, I finally took it. Although the movie is a remake, I have a feeling that the plot deviates a little bit. But, some people tell me that it is only an okay version than the original. The costumes were very intriguing, though. I am not quite sure what year it was supposed to be set in, though, so I can only assume by the costumes that it is placed in modern day, most likely in 2008 or the past few, or next few years. The actors were wearing the same clothing we have been wearing, and will probably be wearing until at least 2010.
The effects were pretty cool. The lasers that the 'protection robot' had, the 'bugs' that ate every human-made and human in their path. That was pretty cool. Interesting concept. The 'bugs' looked like they were made of some kind of metal. How they made them i beyond me, but all I know is that it intrigued me. Actually, it intrigues me.
But alas, since I have not really developed any particular feelings toward the movie, I guess my review ends here. I think I will have to watch it again to determine what I really feel towards it. Or maybe I should watch the original? What do you think?
So, until next time--
